CREM is one of the oldest institutes in studying rare earth permanent magnetic materials. CREM has many national and/or ministerial awards. The techniques of preducing SmCo₅ and Sm₂Co₁₇ magnet powders by using reduction & diffusion (R/D) process have been transferred to Shanghai Yuelong Non-ferrous Metals Co., Ltd. Company. CREM has established a line for producing high performance rare earth permanent magnets. The line can produce 40 tons of high performance rare earth permanent and other magnets per year.
