Rare Earth Separation and Extraction
The research on separation and extraction for rare earth has been standing at leading status in China. A number of achievements won awards and have been applied and transferred to production. One of them won the State Invention Award (2nd class), one of them won the State Science & Technology Advance Award (2nd class), six if them won the Ministerial Science & Technology Award (2nd class or 3rd class).

The major achievements and recommended processes are as follows:

Process for Purification of Rare Earth Oxide
16 rare earth oxides with high purity (99.999% ~ 99.9999%) can be prepared by extraction, extract-chromatography, oxidation, reduction or ion-exchange.

All rare earth Separation Process for Various Rare Earth Resource
All-rare earth separation process can be applied for the concentrates of various rare earth resource such as bastnasite, monazite and ion-type ore. Besides, grouping process can be supplied according to the user's request.

Process for Preparation of Y2O3 with Fluorescent Grade
With fluorescent grade can be obtained by extraction. In addition, grouped concentrate or individual rare earth can be prepared. This all rare earth separation technology has been exported to Germany.

Process of Production of Ce-Zr Compound
The process can produce Ce-Zr compound powder with large special surface area and stability at high temperature, which is used as sub-catalyst for catalyse transformation material of automobile exhaust.

Electrolytic Reduction-Basicity Method Preparing High-purity Europium Oxide
In 1960's, CREM invented Reduction by Zinc Powder-Basicity Method to prepare high-purity europium oxide. The method has been adopted widely in rare earth plants. In order to meet the need of high clarity display, a new method, Electrolytic Reduction-Basicity Method is developed to produce higher-purity europium oxide. The method can avoid the contamination of zinc to the product and enhance the purity of the product. Now, a production line adopting the method is being built up in Gansu Rare Earth Company. Its productive capacity will be up to 15 tons europium oxide annually.
