CREM has made a great progress in rare earth magnetic
materials. CREM has undertaken many state research
projects since the sixth-five state plan and obtained
many achievements in scientific research. For example,
Sm-Co magnets prepared by reduction-diffusion was
successfully applied by Shanghai Yuelong Chemical
Industry Co., Ltd. The main research areas include
high performance . NdFeB sintered magnets, NdFeB
bonded
magnets, Sm-Co magnets, rare earth giant magnetostrictive
materials,giant magnetoresistance materials, magnetooptical
targets and other targets, rare earth alloys and
other alloys. |

CREM posseses some advanced equipments, such as many middle
frequency induction furnaces (50~200kg), cool-isostatic-presser
(CIP), hot-isostatic-presser (HIP), supported by the loan
from the World Bank.
